ok...to go with the new Tv i am getting an amp.

My devices are Sky HD, PS3 and an Xbox 360.....am i right that i can plug the HDMI leads from each into an amp (with 3 or more HDMI slots) and then have a single HDMI from amp to telly?

Does the HDMI take the sound too or do i need to use optical leads between devices and amp also? (i assume "std" sound will go via HDMI to the telly speakers?

I want this supper simple.....i.e - turn on xbox, turn amp to the xbox input, turn on telly and then (if i dont want it loud just turn the amp down and listen via the tv or vice versa)

TXsr507 orinokoyot thingy was the amp if that matters.

T

(please...keep it simple - i can tell loud and quiet but thats about it when it comes to TV!)

SkyHD needs optical as well as HDMI for multichannel surround - genius bit of design that, not sending DD up the HDMI.

Everything else uses HDMI for sound and picture.

So you're bob on with the layout.

yeh, but you do have to make sure in your xbox and playstation menu's that the audio outputs are switched to HDMI (as thay can be changed) and that also the output resolution matches your screens maximum. Also on the sky audio menu set it for Dolby D and not just Stereo.
