Hi all, i have just taken delivery of a new Panasonic TV: TX-P42X10B

It has 3 HDMI slots (only thing i have with HDMI at mo is laptop!!), two scart, S- video and a component.

So, just a quick question, my xbox360 is plugged in to scart on my current telly (only input is 2x scart), is it a better quality on the component input instead? The only other equipment we have currently is the sky+ box, which can only go on scart. So, which is better?

I've got my 360 on component at the moment, and its delivering a satisafctory 1120i signal to the telly, so if that beats the scart signal, do that smile

Roughly in order of quality, worst first, best last

RF
Composite (Direct or SCART)
S-Video
RGB SCART
HDMI
Component

Component is listed as better than HDMI for colour gamut reasons.

I've also excluded video formats from pro and computer sources.

If you have the component cable with you xbox then use it, plug it into the component input on the tv and flick the switch over to HD, then in the xbox setup menu there is an option for output resolution, set that so it matches the highest resolution of your screen.

For sky, plug it in using the scart and in the picture menu make sure it is set for RGB and not PAL.
