I have been looking at this set for our conservatory - couch is probably 10ft away from the wall I will mount it on.

Any experience with this or can anyone suggest anything better for similar money?

Will not be used a vast amount - primarily gaming, DVD's and sport when my mates come over and we are banished(!)

I have a Panasonic 32" 100hz LCD in the lounge and have been happy with it overall. Does the 400hz on the suugested set really make a vast difference?

Thanks

You've chosen a Full HD panel - your given viewing distance suggests the X10 is a better buy for all the resolution you'll be able to benefit from.
If you were adamant that you had to have a Full HD panel, then spend the £90-100 more on the 42G10 - better option and value in the long run, with the FreeSat HD in-built, and 600Hz sub drive for full 1080 line motion resolution (with a 1080P source of course).

Thanks for that. I was having a look at that one and I guess free sat and additional resolution features makes £90 worth of sense.

Yes, but realise the benefit won't be seen from 10' away - 5-6' being optimal with a 1080P source.
That said, regular HD will still look very good - one thing Panny have made sure of with their scaler chip and/or bespoke algorithms.
