Best TV 37-40"
Discussion
I have lost track of what is available now.
I was looking at some the other day and I saw a Samsung LED which had the best clear picture I have ever seen. Is LED a new type of TV?
Anyone recommend a good 37-40" TV (Sony preferred) for less than 1K?
Is LCD better than LED?

LED doesn't exist for domestic use - that's still the preserve of events screens.
All that's happening with that Samsung one is it now has LEDs as backlight, not the typical cold cathode tube.
Anyway, you've said nothing about distance you'll be sat from the TV, what sources you'll be feeding it now, and perhaps very shortly in the future.
This is standard fayre when making a recommendation.

People dont know what they want, they just buy what salesment tell them they want, i mean for christ sake when widescreen came out everyone had to have it and watched a streched picture because they didnt understand it and thought it was wonderfull! , then they all got a nicam VCR and tuned it into zero! Then changes Tv's to silver then to black again, Now they are buying new TV's because of the digital switchover, throwing away thier old DVB CRT becaue they thought they had to buy a new one and then asking 'When does all of this digital start? i cant wait to see the new channels'... AAAARRRGGHHHHhhhh you've had it for the last 6 years!!!
sry rant over..
is short, tell someone what they want and they will want it reguardless. Samsung may be pushing the boundries a little but to me they are using LED as a brand like panasonic use Viera or Sony use Bravia, they dont actually say that the screen is made from LED's.. but also they dont explain it properly. (not that anyone would listen)LED's isnt that what my windows are made from?

or this:

They're what I'm looking at.... doesn't a PH'er own and run Digitaldirect? bloody good site that... I bought my first 37" LCD from them years ago, before I discovered the PH link. Very good levels of advice and service.
Whichever I get I'll be looking to attach:
SkyHD
PS3
Kef1005 and
Onkyo TXSR507 amp
Open to more informed opinion on the choices though....
