I've been thinking about buying one of these for a while, is now a good time?

Seems to fit my requirements, it's Panasonic, it's a Plasma and it's the ideal size for the room.

If I am honest very disappointing screen and I think the LCD's have now caught up at this size.

If most of your viewing is going to be normal freeview then it is probably the better screen to go for but if you are going to be having Sky HD and Blu-Ray with most of you viewing being HD then I am afraid I think one of the Pana LCD's would be better.

By the way this is coming from someone who has 3 plasma's and normally hates LCD

I have a budget of £500 max to spend on a TV, the Panny stands out at this price.

Yes, I will have Sky HD.

The panny LCD has quite a poor viewing angle, from the front it is very good but not from any other angle.

I've also been looking at a 37X10 on the grounds that:

a) 37" is the maximum I can accomodate in the room in question (bedroom)
b) the general consensus that plasma still trumps LCD in a lot of departments, and
c) I won't have a Blu Ray player in that room so max def signal will be 'ordinary' HD

The other consensus seems to be, however, that LCD, possibly in the guise of the G series may have closed the gap somewhat though. The 37X10 probably still makes more sense though, and viewing angle will be 'straight at it'. I'll use the money saved towards something around 46" for the lounge which will have blu ray and will be 1080p (and plasma).

Somebody please tell me quickly if I'm doing the wrong thing...
