Panasonic V10 Blu-ray picture quality
Discussion
I've recently acquired a V10 (Just sold my VIERA TH-42PX60B). To be honest the picture quality doesn't appear to be any different than the previous Viera (in TV mode). More improtantly, Blu-ray is a tad disappointing (Panasonic BD60 player). I've read that the V10 can benefit from a settings tweak, if so, can someone enlighten me?
Cheers

For watching BluRay always use THX mode but wind the sharpness down to the minimumCheers

setting, it my look soft, but in reality it's not the case most people are so used to
an overblown cartoony oversharpened image that initially it looks dull, but stick with it
because you'll see the Picture has sublime natural depth and a fantastic colour balance,
Strangely Panasonic don't seem to be chasing an extreme black like other manufacturers
they seem to be going for a more natural balanced image from black to white.
I'm just waiting for us to get some 50V10s back in stock as I'm going to replace my
Pioneer 507XD with one.
Don't use the THX mode with SKY-HD as it switches off the overscanning and you'll get
problems at the picture edges, luckily the Panny has seperate settings for each input

All TV's can benefit from a settings tweak The first thing is to take them off the dynamic setting, turn off any overscan, digital noise reduction, dynamic contrast etc....
there is a little guide on setting contrast brightness and sharpnes on the link below,
http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AQwyoj0hghSKZGZu...
for more comples adjustments you will need access to the service menu, colour filters, light meters etc.. so its best to set the colour temp and colour level to what looks good to you.
edit to add, use the THX mode if it has it and just use the guide to set the sharpness properly
