Are there any "diminutive" AV receivers out there?

I appreciate that amplification really needs some hefty kit, but I could do with a bit less height that the old Sony I have. Less depth would be handy too.

Any experiences?

Marantz have just launched the NR1501 that may be worth having a look at. It has all the "must have's" and is less than 100mm high.

Onkyo do decent compact AV receivers there.

Thanks fellas.

That Marantz looks just the ticket, assuming it sounds OK. Searching for reviews now (sceptical that it can pack so much in for that price and still sound OK).

I think it will sound pretty good knowing Marantz. We are due to get out stock shorlty so will test it against the full sized competition.

What about an Arcam Solo Movie I have been after one of these for a while but cannot justify the price (unless anyone knows of a deal).

Let us know how t sounds!

What do you think of the B&W MT30 set up too? I have some old Energy speakers currently, which still work fine. But am thinking of swapping the lot out...

Too pricey for me, and don't need the DVD element (run all my movies from a Mac Mini).

The ost compact one I know is the Cyrus AV Master 8.0. It has three channels of amplification, so you'd need to add a Cyrus Power amp of which the cheapest is the 6. Those two would set you back £1400 though.
