I ran the auto setup on my Denon 1509 and it said that my SR speaker (Q Acoustics 1000i) had a phase error. I checked & double checked the cabling but it looked OK. Is it possible that the speaker could be wired incorrectly or has the Audessey setup just made a mistake? Is there any other way to test?

Swap the speaker cable round and see if the fault disappears. That will tell if the phasing / internal wiring might be wrong.

If you're 110% sure the wiring is neg to neg, pos to pos then put it down to a reading fault. It happens occasionally.

Plotloss - do youi rate the Audessey set up system - I've used it on my Onkyo S875 and seems to be fine.

Their licenced kit inside integrated amplifiers is pretty good for what it is, a single chip bolt on. Not to be relied on 110% but they get you pretty close all things considered.

Their proper dedicated single box room correction products however are utterly fabulous.
