Sony STRDG820 paired with Tannoy SFX5.1 Speakers?

Are these a good combo? Better than an all in one? Very tempted, budget is about £500 MAX but would like to spend £400.

Friend of mine got this setup a fortnight ago and is very pleased. Simple to set up and what I thought was a good sound for the price. Certainly my last £500 lifestyle system was a lot worse!

Good range of inputs on the amp, the speaker cable isn't that great though it does the job.

I think I'm getting the STR-DH800 instead as the only ones left are open boxed items Not sure is the DH800 is worth another 40-50 quid but hey ho

I've got the Tannoys running off a Denon 1909. They are not bad tbh. The sub isn't very controlled when pushed and the speakers are terrible for music when compared with a Denon DM37 running some B&W 601's. Can't complain for the money though and will do me until I can justify buying a better package.
