Not heard the Bantum but have been very impressed by Big Joe

This type of Amp is a "flavour of the Month" so I'd be wary. I don't think they are kept long term.http://www.templeaudio.net/bantam.html

I need these amps for a project that I am working on and I think they will do just fine. I was looking for something around the $100 mark.
Ultimately I will build my own amp, but this will do for the moment.
Let us know what you think. Most seem to have gone in with enthuism but sold them after a year.Ultimately I will build my own amp, but this will do for the moment.
Not cheap, but studio quality (mono blocks at half cyrus size but far better sounding - as used by Bryston/PMC)

Excellent choice, but may be a tad expensive for the OP's requirements.http://www.canford.co.uk/Products/22077/93-113-FLY...

I recently built my own amp.. Im not sure which route you plan to go with it. But I can certainly recommend Hypex modules (Class D). Look them up... Cost me about £700 to build it (2ch/stereo) and it will p!ss all over anything costing many times that Quite possible to build a very compact Hypex based amp too.P,
[Edit] Re: the Flying mole amps. They are indeed very good. But you'd be lucky to get one now. Im pretty sure they went bust recently. Their website certainly hasn't worked for weeks either.

That would be a real shame if true. The economy is in such chaos isn't it. Hopefully they will be back under a new name shortly. Flying Vole?
Luckily I already have some in my second system. They're like my Bryston's in miniature. Easily the best value item I've seen (DIY aside)

Indeed. I fancied a Bryston, but they are pricey. Plus I didn't need anything else to heat my house I was about to buy a pair of Flying mole monoblocks, but then heard good things about the Hypex (pre assembled) modules, which are also class D, like the moles. I worked out I could build a Hypex amp with more power than the moles, yet for similar money. Depending on speaker impedance, my amp is 200-400 watts per channel.
While im here.. Apparently the multichannel Class D Bryston amps use Hypex OEM modules. So perhaps that puts things into perspective for folks that hadn't heard of Hypex before. Its good kit!

If you're going s/h there are quite a few
Naim Nait 1
Naim Nait 2
Ion Obelisk
Ion Obelisk 2
Ion Obelisk 3
Nytech CA202
Nytech CA252
Nytech CA102 (same as Ion Obelisk)
Onix 0A21
Onix OA22
Mission Cyrus 1
Mission Cyrus 2 and onwards!
For value for money I'd get an Ion Obelisk, a good one should set you back about £80-£90, The Naims are a bit pricey now for the performance they offer and the early Nytechs had a reputation for spontaneous combustion!
