I need a new CD player: £200
Discussion
Marantz or NAD usually make good units.
Here are just a few that i would consider - some are a tad over £200 but if you could stretch a bit (and Richer Sounds may be open to deals) then it would be worth it

How about a used CD player with a decen transport like an
Arcam Alpha 5 and a Bereford 7510 DAC. All in for £200 and will sound tasty.
I'm pretty sure the PS3 has an optical out so all you need is the Beresford DAC. Should sound pretty good.Arcam Alpha 5 and a Bereford 7510 DAC. All in for £200 and will sound tasty.
I'm running one just now from an optical feed from my soundcard. I'm using it as a pre-amp to 2 Net Audio Quad 405 power amps which are bi-amping my Linn Kaber speakers. The DAC is a great sounding device, and awesome value for money.

Can the Beresford go into a 'normal' amp, not just a power amp?
It can. It's got a separate output for normal amps and power amps. Some info here:
