Marantz or NAD usually make good units.

Here are just a few that i would consider - some are a tad over £200 but if you could stretch a bit (and Richer Sounds may be open to deals) then it would be worth it

How about a used CD player with a decen transport like an
Arcam Alpha 5 and a Bereford 7510 DAC. All in for £200 and will sound tasty.

I have some directional, oxygen free, rare-earth element mains cable here...... only £10k per milimetre.... wink

I'm pretty sure the PS3 has an optical out so all you need is the Beresford DAC. Should sound pretty good.

I'm running one just now from an optical feed from my soundcard. I'm using it as a pre-amp to 2 Net Audio Quad 405 power amps which are bi-amping my Linn Kaber speakers. The DAC is a great sounding device, and awesome value for money.

Used to make good units.

Before the people genuinely interested in audio reproduction left and were replaced with accountants.
