Bathroom Audio
Discussion
Hello
Just doing out my bathroom and would like to fit a speaker. Can anyone recommend one?
Also, can I connect it to my sky system so that I get the audio source from that? Music channel etc, if so how would I go about this?
If this is not possible I guess I am looking for recommendations for a bathroom speaker/radio.
Thanks
M

Surprised the experts haven't chipped in, so as much to bump.
First, normal form is waterproof ceiling speakers. Mine were KEF but at the time I believe they were running out stock. Google bathroom speakers and you'll get a list. If you have living space above, sound deadening/shields are a wise addition. Expect sound to be decent, but not audiophile. Still, highly effective.
The source has to be waterproof as well, or outside the room. You may consider a normal hifi unit, perhaps in the bedroom with two speaker outputs? (make sure the speaker select button is on the front face). Make sure you have a "default" setting (e.g. CD with repeat, or some mp3 package, radio), so you don't have to dick about when you are about to jump in the shower.
For TV sound, I think your simplest option is a TV or digibox piping sound into the alt option on your amplifier.
In short, I'm suggesting a TV/HiFi combo in your bedroom, with an extra set of speakers plumbed into the bathroom. Rough & ready, but very effective.

have you seen the youtube vid of the bloke putting his sonos controller under the kitchen tap, and then fully submerging it...Ii am running so cheap waterproof speakers from eBay in the bath room thay are ok. I use a sonos unit as the source and he radio / music when getting up relay helps
apparently there are quite a few owners who take their controller into the shower with them!
I'm itching to have a go at doing this. It's on the (very long) to do list. I was given a Revo Pico http://www.revo.co.uk/digital-radio/revo-pico.php that I use in the bathroom. It's very good - splashproof, rechargeable, inputs/outputs etc.

A Russound single point stereo speaker will do the trick. You need to speak to Plotloss:Just doing out my bathroom and would like to fit a speaker. Can anyone recommend one?
