Hi Everyone,

I'm after a few opinions on what's the best setup for my overall needs, so any suggestions are welcome!

Last night I finally signed up to SkyHD (new customer). Currently I have BT line (£11 pm) and BT Broadband (£18ish pm), and BT Vision (Free)

They offered Skytalk Line Rental free for 12 months, but I didn't take it, on the basis that I would have to swap my BT Broadband to Sky Connect (i'm not in a normal Sky Broadband Area), and also my BT vision would stop working.

Have I missed an opportunity here? Should I have swapped for the Skytalk Line Rental free for 12 months, or would it just cause me hassle?

My basic needs are:
1 Decent TV connection (So don't really mind losing BT vision, so long as Sky+HD works well)
Decent Broadband connection, preferably unlimited usage.
Landline phone calls aren't really important at all.

Any suggestions of the best setup? scratchchin
I'm limited in BB options as I can only have the "standard" up to 8Mb services in my area.

Cheers

i just put this deal in my partners name as a new customer as it was such a great deal,

skk+ hd
free line rental with free evening weekend calls
free daytime call package for 6 month then £5 afterwards
broadband £10 a month

i took the oppotunity as moved to a new build house, BT wanted 125 quid to do the line, sky charged me £25, also BT line rental a month is more expensive, i think sky broadband is better too, in my opinion its fantastic deal, i look at it as the freen line rental a month pays for your HD channels too

Thanks for the replies.

If I was in one of the "normal" Sky BB areas then it would be a no-brainer but i'd have to use SkyConnect.

Has anyone used this service? Essentially as far as I can work out it's the same as normal BB, except it's limited to 40Gb per month. I have no idea if that'd be enough or not.

when i was talking about "regular" sky broadband with the sales person she wasn't interested in upgrading me to the no-limit version. I said i'd rather not have download limits and she said that if i exceed it once it's ignored. Twice i get an email. Third time i get a reminder, and the fourth they automatically upgrade me on to the no limit broadband and i pay the extra (that i already offered to pay from the start).

Might be worth testing?

i was on sky broadband with unlimited downloads etc now on connect and have to wait for a space to free up, they will send me a letter once its available, only thing im disapointed with is, is the 40g download cap, but its more than enough really, also still pretty good
