My current broadband connection is pants and constantly loses connection. I'm a good way from the exchange and can only manage up to 1mb as the norm. Having called my current provider (£13.99/month) they inform me I'm on an 'old package' but could do it for £13/month (cheers for the generosity). It's so bad, that any forum I visit that has more tan a couple of pictures/page, the connection just gives up.

I've decided to bite the bullet and take a Sky+ package for only a few quid more. (I've been offered free installation). My query is with the broadband. Is it reliable and how quickly does it switch over. (I've requested the MAC code). I don't want to swap one bad connection for another. And with a slow connection I don't see the point of getting anything other than the base 2mb package. I don't download anything, so I'm assuming that 2gb will be enough to surf PH and other forums. I'm I right, or should I be looking at the Mid package?

I switched to Sky broadband about 2 months ago and it is OK. The router they provide gives disconnection problems with my wifes HP laptop though and you are not allowed to change to another router.

I use a laptop exclusively. Hope that's just an isolated problem.
