The quality of the stream is dynamically amended based on your internet connection speed. What sort of connection do you have? Is your iPlayer viewing throttled by your ISP?
Orange broadband sent to PS3 via Comtrend Powerlines - should be pretty quick but don't know the exact figures.Legend83 said:

And try doing the speed test on a machine on your network at the same time of day as you were attempting to watch the iPlayer stream.. It might answer your questions..
I use I Player through my laptop connected to a non-hd projector.
At the size that its projected the quality is good. Not amazing and no way near as good as DVD, or even the HD programs like 'Jonathon Ross' which are broadcast on Iplayer in HD, but I would say as good as regular TV, although I've never connected a TV signal to my projector for broadcast.
My friend streams video from his PC to his TV, wireless via a PS3 and he says the connections not quick enough to give a perfect interference free broadcast.

I used to be able to play 720p WMV files from my pc via the 360 happily enough. Suppose it depends on the range and quality of the signal. I did a scan of other local networks to see if I was getting interference before I did anything else.At the size that its projected the quality is good. iPlayer on PS3 is pretty poor because the PS3's OS and flash capabilities aren't the same as a PC's. While the PS3 has loads of processing power and decent graphical performance, flash doesn't utilise that power properly.
Pretty sure that's the reason anyway, iplayer looks like crap on my PS3 and it has nothing to do with my connection (be broadband / 18meg)
