Anything better than Samsung LED 7000 series?
Discussion
Been looking at the Samsung LED 7000 series which can be had for £1375 for 40inch with Blu Ray player from John Lewis with five year guarantee and free delivery.
Is there anything else out there at the moment which offers as good value for money? Doesnt have to be LED but the slimmer the better.

What is the difference between the 42 inch panasonics, the P42V10B, P24G10B and P42X10B?
Have a read - http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/287749/modul...Cheers
Very little between the V and G
John Lewis are doing a good deal at the moment on the G with a home cinema system for £1300 with a 5 year warranty. http://www.johnlewis.com/Technology/Televisions/Te...
Might have to take the plunge

Have a serious look at Panasonic NeoPDP plasma, especially the V10 range.
I know the Samsung is slim but it is just an LCD tv with LED backlights. It still has all the same old problems as large screen LCD suffer from such as poor black level and moving picture smearing, I repeat these are just LCDs with diffrent backligjting instead of flurecent tubes they are using LED lights,
In the case of a plasma and LCD they have over 2.1million pixels YES
Panasonic have a indevidual light source for each pixel so 2.1 individual controlled pixels YES.
Samsung have 2.1million pixels on there LCD/LED tvs but in the case of LED they only have 600 led bulbs controlling 2.1million pixels!!!.
In summary Panasonic controll each pixel independantly so better control of the image. Samsung LEDs only have 6oo leds controlling the picture so no way can it be as accurate as a Panasonic Plasma.
Roumour has it that Panasonic will at some point next year supply a LCD with LED backlight (same as Samsung) but with 2.1 million leds controlling each individual pixel.
I'm not saying the Samsung is bad it's just that they have not done anything spectacular to the picture ITS AN LCD TV. They have made it slim but that has had an effect on the speakers on the product as the sound is pretty poor and the connections on the back are AWFUL if you use good quality cables they are hanging out the side!!.

marketing, this set really isn't as good as the TX-P42V10 Panasonic, slimmer yes
The rumour re panasonic is not an LED backlight LCD but a true OLED 40" TV
probably launched in Japan later this year and the rest of the World next year
