I am currently looking to upgrade to a Sky+ box as well as reducing the cost of my sub as I am paying too much to watch too little that is worthwhile.

If you are a new customer, it seems you can get a free Sky+ box plus a full entertainment pack for £21.50pcm without the movie and sports packs.

If however you are an existing customer, you will pay £49 for the box plus £60 for setup and it looks like you are stuck with the current package you already have, so no cutting back.

Seems a tad unreasonable to me.

In the current climate, does anyone know how amenable they would be to a polite phonecall with a suggestion that they upgrade the box for free and change the subscription package otherwise Freesat or Freeview beckons me?

I rang them when having problems with my 6 year old Sky box.

Told them I didn't want HD and that all their offers were for that, or for 'new customers only'.

The guy was pretty good. Did me a Sky+ box for £15 with a free install.

Can't get channel 4 on it all like, despite a new dish, LNB, box, cabling and resiting the dish.

Called them up and asked for a new viewing card... still waiting.

I'd go cable in a gnats heartbeat if I could.

I'm failry certain you can cut back on watch subs you have and get it down to about £20 a month.

I'm sure when I got my HD box (existing customer) it was only £29 a month with no sports or movies.
