Following alot of help from folks on here I recently bought a Panasonic TXP-42G10 plasma and I'm curious to see how much of a difference HD makes.

Has anyone got Virgin HD? Apart from the films on demand is there much other content? I was looking on the website and the only channel it mentioned was BBC News HD or something similar. And does anyone know of any plans to increase the amount of HD content on there?

Only BBC HD but it does upscale SD broadcasts to look slightly nicer. Kind of a waste of money if you ask me. Same with Freesat.

Sky has loads of HD channels (but the content is a bit rubbish)

Rumours of more HD content coming soon have been around for a while, but over the last couple of months has increased in specifics:

December: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/a138069/virg...

April: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/a151487/virg...

May: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/a154960/5-li...

One of the (alleged) issues is that Sky have been signing deals with channels for exclusivity in the UK, so even the non-Murdoch channels have been restricted to HD via the wok. Since the thawing of relations between $ky and Virgin, it's rumoured that talks are ongoing to get more content on the cable platform.

Cheers. Will hang fire for awhile then.

The house has got a satallite dish, so I might see about connecting that up if I can as the TV's got freesat...hopefully show the other half that it was worth the extra to get a decent plasma.
