2nd hand Panasonic PX70 at 37" is likely to be the nearest you can hope to get a Plasma for around your budget.

i bought an LG 32 (32lh2000) inch screen from curries or dixons last weekend (one of those out of town retail parks where everything looks the same!)
300 notes, Only used it for xbox/wii but couldn't be more please to be honest.
seems to have gone back up in price to 350 now for some reason, might be some haggling to be done?
