Currently looking at two 50"plasma's and getting a little confused as to which one to go for?

Pioneer PDP-508XD, won loads of awards and amazing reviews but has Native Resolution 1365 x 768
Contrast Ratio 16,000:1.

Panasonic TX-P50G10, good reviews but nothing like that of the Pioneer yet has Native Resolution 1920 x 1080
Contrast Ratio 40,000:1.

The Pioneer is £200 more expensive and that confused me more.

the Pioneer was discontinued over a year ago so if it's in a box make sure it's new!

But the Panasonic probably just shades it, also if it's actually bought in a dealer then you get
a Five year warranty.

spec differences
PIONEER PANASONIC
resolution 1366 X 768 1920 X 1080
Contrast ratio 16000:1 40000:1
scanning 100hz 600hz
Tuners analogue/Freeview Analogue/Freeview/Freesat-HD
response time 0.001ms 0.001ms

But as the previous post says have a look for yourself, as a Pioneer owner myself (507XD)
I'll admit this latest range from Panasonic really are very good indeed, and i'm seriously
considering the new THX certified Panasonic TX-P50V10 which launches in June.

Thanks tdm, it was the price and reviews that confused me as stats alone make the Panasonic the better screen.

Aren't there some new V10 Panasonics out this month?
