I've got a Roksan Caspian CD player in my system, it is struggling (not finding the tracks) to play some CD's which other inferior players play with no probs.

I'm in two minds of either getting the player serviced.... do they do such a thing ??????? ..... can I get some of the internals upgraded if so ????? ... or to buy a Roksan Candy to match my amp???? or something else scratchchin

oil / lightly grease the transport mechanism , it has dried out and is struggling to move the laser fast enough. Little point spening much on CD transports (players) as replay from a hard drive is less prone to jitter etc.

I'd Ring Roksan and get their views. Most British Hi-Fi makers will actually service the products they make. Only problem they have is that the makers of the transport mechanisms are not as good at doing this as they are.
