It does support the CAV but something from the Pronto Pro line will not only be a better controller, it will also work with feedback from the CAV, its essentially an Uno-S2 in your hand...

I have the 1000, was really impressed until Logitech started playing with the programming software etc - now the buttons stick and repeat constantly, various macros that have been setup since I got it don't appear or don't function properly and Logitech don't care. Get a proper one (like Plotloss says) or don't bother.

Oh god yes. My 890 is suddenly looking rather inconsequential.

9800 is really nice because its got the hard 'back' button which the 9600 doesnt have and its very useful for Sky applications.

surely a Harmony is really just the next step up from a hard button only style programmable remote and its still fairly quick and easy to get up and running how you want (a few hours at most)

whereas a Pronto (I had a 2nd gen one Pro jobbike for a few years) is more like a hobby ....you start by deisgning all the buttons you need for each screen, before the interaction etc, and spend many days getting it working, then some weeks refining it

great if you want another hobby and a talented software developer...not so good if you just want a remote to replace another 5 remotes, and you want it all up and running in an hours time LOL wink

Fair point, but it's all about (to me) flexibility. I've looked at replacing my Pronto with a Harmony as the Pronto is on its last legs, but the Harmony doesn't seem to offer the same functionality as the Pronto.

I'm not anywhere in the same same league as the installs Plotloss does day to day, but I still want to do things with my lights etc that it would seem from first glance would be a pain with the way the Harmony software works.

Plus, just compare the pictures of the 9800 and the Harmony. AV porn.
