I've got a budget projector, an Infocus X2. The bulb lasted a rather pathetic 400 hours on economy settings. I'm hoping you guys could point me in the direction of a cheap direct replacement or an alternative such as an LED lamp. Failing that some recommendations for a new projector under £1500 that I could consider to replace the X2 and cut my losses?

Thanks! beer

400 hours isnt bad really.

Not in budget but the Epson 5000 at £3500 has a five year warranty on unit and lamp...

An optimistic 4000 hours was suggested by Infocus.
That kind of guarantee sounds ideal but I don't have any higher end equipment to compliment the Epsom at the moment. No real complaints about the X2 in terms of picture, but ideally a replacement would be DLP, 1080p and wide-screen without borders.

A proper 'scope solution?

Requires a special lens, with a shifter to do it properly.

Lens roughly the same as the projector. For example JVC HD750, unit is £5K, lens is £5K

I'm definitely out of my depth here! laugh
I've seen set-ups that appear to lack a border, especially when compared to the thick lines you get running DVD through the X2?
