6ft (ish) screen projector?
Discussion
Hi guys, hoping for some advice...
A mate wants to come visit and spend Saturday morning on Tottenham Court Road looking at projectors. From past discussions he'll be wanting a screen about 6ft wide, and the whole caboodle ceiling mounted.
Not my 'bag' (as it were), so I thought I'd try to get some recommendations.
I guess rules being, er, rules, you'd have to PM me if you are flogging the stuff yourself. You are quite welcome to do so. But, any advice would be appreciated. If nothing else, I won't look too stupid on the day!

I have had a few. But you cant go wrong with an Infocus.
All depends on budget, my 1st infocus was a year old one and picked it up for £800. Current one was £2500. I have mine on a six foot screen too.
Model wise i've had:
Screenplay 4805/4800
IN82 (current full HD)
Have a look at http://www.infocus.com/Segments/Entertainment/Home...

It comes down to budget and how good you need it to be. Presuming a light controlled room and a central position for the projector at the £2k mark the Sony HW10 and Panasonic PTAE3000 would be my choice. After that at £3k the Epson5000 and JVC 350. The Sony VPLVW80 and JVC 750 are at £5kish. If you need advice beyond that price point let me know.

I did this on a tight budget a couple of years ago - bought a £400 Toshiba Projector and a £20, 2 metre wide white blackout screen from IKEA. It wasn't FullHD, but I was reasonably happy with it, it was just a lot of faffing around and the noise and artefacts got on my nerves a bit.
So I went and bought a Panasonic 50" Plasma. Sometimes though you can't beat an 82" screen, especially when playing Forza 2!
