TV recommendations for my parents
Discussion
Mum and Dad have decided they're going to get a Nintendo Wii plus the Wii Fit and to do so, they have decided to upgrade their old sony crt family room tv to something newer.
So, I thought I'd ask the experts on here what they should look out for. They tend to like buying expensive high quality items that last the years, as they hate upgrading every few years.
The tv will obviously be a flat screen but lcd or plasma? They're looking at 32" but I'm trying to persuade them they need a 37" which of course brings up the 37x10 Panasonic Plasma that I keep seeing recommended on here.
Also I guess they should get an HDTV model, plus a tv that comes with 3+ HDMI ports. They'll want to connect up an existing scart dvd player, plus Humax pvr. My dad sits in his comfy armchair in the opposite corner to the tv so thats at least 2ft so I guess they should get 1080p resolution.
Have I missed anything, if so please advise? Oh yeah they don't have sky, so no sky type connections are required.
