Over the years ive collected some Hi-Fi bits and pieces.
Now i havent got the space to keep it all. Im going to have to sell some of it. Problem is i dont know which ones to keep.....

Help me build the best Hi-fi from the following parts:

CDs
Marrantz CD-63
Marrantz CD-63
Arcam Alpha one

Amps
NAD 310 Amplifier
Arcam Alpha Three Amplifier (been moded with lots of Delta compnents - so is more like an Alpha 5)

Speakers
Arcam one
B&W DM 110
Misson 731 bookshelf

I have had all the above wither given to me or aquired from car boot sales.
I have no idea of value or how good they are or were !!

The cd players and amps were pretty good in their day. From what I can remember I think you'll find the Marantz players a little 'harder' than the Arcam - it comes down to your taste at the end of the day.

I'd stick my neck out and say the Arcam amp would be better than the NAD. NADs are cracking little amps but I seem to recall that the 310 wasn't quite as good as the previous generations.

As for the speakers, hook em up and see which ones you like. All were ok-ish in their day. None were outright best in class but were good and when partnered with the right ancillaries would probably still knock the socks off any modern mini type system.

I agree with everything posted above. If you want to keep some of it to make a system, put it all together in various combination and keep what suits you best.

I had a Marantz CD63se back in the day and What Hi-Fi, if they can be trusted I don't know as they seemed well ott on Marantz gear, had it as their award winning CD player in the class.

Once you know what you want to get rid of, check out ebay for similar items and sell them there. I'd estimate you'd get around 100 - 150 for the remaining items.

I still use one of the Marantz CD Players as my main player (albeit the KI-Signature version) and I still have no wish to part with it. The detail it can dig from a CD is frankly ludicrous at times. I'd try matching one of them up with the Arcam amp then have a listen and see what speakers you like most. I always found all Arcam set ups too warm and almost ponderous, but if you don;t like your music warts and all they can take the edge off a detailed CD player like the Marantz and make them a more comfortable listening experience.

Thanks for the comments.
I took your advice and was perusing Ebay today.

I came across this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/B-W-DM110-HI-FI-SPEAKERS_W0QQitemZ120406796196QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_AudioVideoElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_HiFiSpeakers?hash=item120406796196&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683

£249 for a pair of used B&W DM110 s??

Really?

If they are worth this much, they are probably worth hanging onto?

If you intend to use them as a part of your chosen system yes, hold onto them and enjoy. But you stated in your op you are wanting a clear out as you don't have the room, so why not sell them and spend the money on something you will actually use?

There is no doubt though that with the components you have to choose from, you will have a cracking little system.

Pretty certain they were £100 new.

Why don't you just actually listen to the speakers and make your own mind up?
Personally i would say, Marantz CD, Arcam amp and speakers.
