As the title suggests really, at 32" on an LCD screen is the 1080p worth the extra cost? Do you notice the difference.

As an example, which of these would be the better purchase?

Or a curve ball with twin tuner & built in hard drive: http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/jvc/lt-32de1bj.html

As slight aside: anyone know if the EPG is any good on the JVCs? I'd use the built in Freeview quite a bit and hate a bad interface!

Cheers smile

ETA the correct links...

From what I understand of suggested screen size/viewing distances you would need to sit about 2ft away from it to notice! So no, prob not worth it.

Thanks, that's kinda what I'd heard.

Just realised that I got one of the links wrong: cheaper one should have been http://www.digitaldirect.co.uk/jvc/lt-32dy8zj.html

As above, unless used as a computer monitor, at the typical seated distance one uses theirs at, then you'd see no difference sitting on the sofa.
What about the 37" Panasonic x10 Plasma?

Not worth it at that size unless your going to use a computer input. I've just bought an LG 32" from Richer Sounds for 399 (or rather the girlfriend has bought us one) and its not 1080 but it actually looks fine with the laptop running through it although I noticed that although it's not true-1080 it's listed as accepting 1080 inputs.

Nawt wrong with!
