So its like this, long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ...

We used to have Sky+ (w/ Multi Room) and a 4 LNB dish. Then one day I got fed up and cancelled Sky+.

We replaced it with Humax Foxsat dual thingy hdd jobby using the Freesat signal and acting as our Sky+ box in the living room.

Upstairs we paid Sky for a Freesat card and used it in the existing Pace Sky box.

Now for the odd thing ... When the Humax is powered and active (not in standby) we are able to see all the Freesat channels that Sky allow on the Pace box. However, as soon as we put the Humax into standby mode, the only channel we can see on the Pace box is BBC1!

As far as I am aware, there is no direct connection between Pace and the Humax. 1 cable from the dish goes into the Pace. 2 others go into the Humax and the 4th is not connected to anything.

Any ideas as to what could be causing?!

TIA

The humax has 3 LNB connections right? The 3rd one is an LNB1 loopthrough for if you are connecting it to one LNB, you havent connected one of the leads to this by misteak have you?

No ... Cables used are the same was left when we un-subscribed from Sky; 2 going into the Sky+ box and 1 going into the Pace box; Direct cables coming in from the dish.

yes i understand that, i installed one of these boxes on saturday, it had 3 connections on the back that all look identical, but they are not, 2 are for connecting your dish cables to and the other is an output. What i also noticed was that some LNB switching on the 3rd connection occurs when you switch the freesat box into standby. Im thinking on the lines that if you had accedentally connected one of the dish leads to this 3rd connection that when you turn the box into standby then it could possibly switch this LNB connection to earth thereby affecting your quad LNB to the extent where it partially shuts down causing the problem with your pace box.

I assume that during the fault condition that if you disconnect the dish connections on the freesat box that your pace box starts working again?
