Hi all,

I'm looking for a screen to use for my console and to watch DVD's on.

A Samsung LCD has come up silly cheap with a faulty tuner, picture degrades after half and hour or so of viewing into vertical banding so has been returned and discounted.

Am i Right i thinking if the tuner is broken it will still display other inputs OK?

Not possible to test before i buy it but it is cheap enough to take a gamble on.

Cheers,

Rick.

Hss the screen got a spereate tuner box (the type with all of the av inputs on it) or is it a newer one with an integrated tuner that has gone faulty?
There is a big difference.

A faulty tuner would give you a freeview picture that was constantly breaking up and freezing etc.. just like you get with a poor aerial. The fault you describe sounds like it could be something else. If its cheap enough then it could be worth taking the chance.
In answer to your question, if the tuner is faulty then yes the av inputs would work fine.
