Virgin Media....can it be 'piped' to another room?

Okay, am showing my dumb bint side here....nothing new some might say

I have the basic Virgin Media package, and hopefully in the next few months will be moving to a larger property. And I am wondering, if my set top box in in my living room, is there anyway I can also get it into the bedroom(s) also?

Plus, does my Virgin Media phone point have to go where the modem is...ie same room again?

Yes you can distribute the RF signal around the house, you will need co-ax (aerial) cable run to the rooms and a distribution amp.
Obviously you will have to watch the same Virgin programme in all rooms.

No your telephone and TV cable box do not need to be in the same place. The signals come down two different cables. The installer will take the easiest option so you may need to insist they put the boxes where you want them.

Brilliant move. Completely and utterly killed any chance of me spending any money on Virgin HD as all my cable passes through the box.

Catering for the lowest common denominator and the number of calls received from people buying HD TV then still connecting on the Scart or RF.

Won't a video sender work? guessing, I know less about this stuff than rocket science, but I do recall a video sender will transmit the signal albeit a limited range.

I use a video sender for my Virgin Media box to see and hear it on the bedroom TV. Got an extra remote off E-Bay for £1.50, works fine.


Cheap and cheerful, but it works, and we don't need the last word in Hi Def to fall asleep to.

We have Virgin Media.

They installed the following for us:

V+ box in the lounge downstairs
Standard box in the bedroom (Extra £5 p/month)
Broadband installed in the walking wardrobe
Telephone point installed in the bedroom.

I'm an existing customer and just moved house - when they came to the new place they installed the second box free. Not sure if thats because I'm on one of the more expensive packages or not - give them a ring and ask them though.
