I need a small LCD TV for my bedroom, and really the maximum width is 45cm, which rules out all the 19 inch models. I've been looking around and can't find any TVs this size made by the brands I usually look for (Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony etc.).

Can anybody direct me to a TV of this sort of size by a made by a quality/reliable brand, or alternatively suggest a TV from one of the not-so-good brands that they've been happy with?

Tx in advance......

As far as I can recall all the decent well branded manufacturers have now pulled out of anything less than 19" 16:9. If you find a smaller one it will most likely have been developed from a PC monitor with a crappy tuner thrown onto it so the viewing angle will be dire. Our Samsung 19" is 480mm. Can you squeeze to that?

I'll have to get the tape measure out and be absolutely sure, but I suspect not. No option to put it anywhere else because SWMBO refuses to have TVs on show.

Regarding a monitor with a poor quality tuner - if I'm going to use sky as the signal source, does that matter? Hadn't thought of looking at monitors rather than TVs.

The larger Foehn & Hirsch have good reviews, but this one not reviewed yet

Its more down to the viewing angle but if its going to be directed to the viewing area then thats not a huge issue. Speakers generally in the 'monitor' types are also not of the best...but if its just for a bedroom then I guess hi fi quality isnt the most important consideration!

Garycat - funny I've been watching that one for a month or two (has been on pre-order only for a long time), but the dimensions they quote are for the 19" TV I think. I called them last week and they said they would check and update, but nothing yet...
