Onkyo TX-SR606 or .....
Discussion
Looking at buying an Amp for my home Cinema and music needs, will be connecting to this
Virgin Media PVR,
Xbox 360,
Playstation 3,
Outputting to a Panasonic Plasma TV.
Current plan on speakers is either to pair this with the Q Acoustic 1010i, or the kef 1005.2. With eventually a small pair of speakers fitted outside to give some sound in the garden.
The speaker options are based partly on internet reviews and partly on local shop discussions.
So far my internet travels are leading me down the path of the Onkyo, but wondered before spending my money if there was anything other brands worth investigating into first. Amp prices are sitting around the £400 figure.

i've got kef 1005.2's as well and i'm also searching for an amp.
after a few listens and hearing to a few concerned rumblings about running temp on onkyo's i had decided on a Denon AVR1909. Richer Sounds had them at £370 (silver only) but when i went to get it at the weekend the Denon AVR1910 had been announced and they discontinued the lot! Bromley has one in at £250 now which seems like an absolute bargain.. bit too far from me though.
I'll hold off for a 1910 now, or i'll wait until the 1909 gets reduced below £400 before i buy one elsewhere
