A few months ago i got fed up with the picture on my crt telly going off the screen, bit the bullet and bought a 42" Plasma wide screen, and it still bloody happens!!! I just get someones nose poking out the side or half letters missing off the credits.

As a last resort I decided to read the hand book, but can't find anyway to fix it.

Can you guy's be of any help?

Does the box have output ratio settings too? Most do(if not all).

It will be in the set up menu. Make sure it is set in 16.9 WS

yes Our Virgin service looks just fine even on an ancient 4:3 CRT. Just goes letterbox whenever the programme is broadcast WS.

Having said that, some programming still won't fit properly in 16:9, so it will possibly be cropped a bit when broadcast.

CJS, you were spot on, Thanks. After hours messing about with the TV it took about 2 secs on the box to have no more short, fat people on my screen.

Glad to help. Another thing to check in the V box menu is the TV output signal, if possible set it to RGB rather than PAL or Composite, this will give you a better picture on your new TV. You are using a Scart Cable?
