Just bought myself a new LCD tv and am now thinking I need a new home cinema system to watch my DVD's on. The only thing stopping me is that we seem to be moving quickly towards Bluray and would I be wasting my money buying a new system to play DVD/CD's on ?

What kind of costs are we looking at then ?
Could you get a home cinema system and connect a PS3 player through it for bluray ?

By home cinema I guess you are talking surround sound?

Is your room layout actually suited to surround sound, or are you better off spending money on a better quality 2.1 setup?

I've seen loads of room where people have spent out for surround, then position the TV, speakers and seating area so badly (often as dictated by the layout of what is afterall a living area) that they's have been much better off doing without the rears and going for a good centre, left and right setup instead, or a sound projector of some sort.

To be honest I think a good centre one would be best, its a front room not a specific cinema room. What would you recommend if I had 400.00 to spend?
