I am now on my second freeview box and this problem still persists! The signal strength and picture quality is awful on all itv and channel 4 channels, the picture and sound breaks up. All other channels are ok. Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks,

Matt

AFAIK all BBC channels are transmitted at 4 times the strength of commercial stations and will be until your area turns off the analogue transmitter. Its something to do with 64 MUX AND 16 MUX. If you have a new aerial properly installed then your best solution will be to ditch Freeview and go for Freesat. Atmospheric conditions will also affect the signal. High pressure could be a problem

Around our way the transmitter is on low power for an upgrade.

Not sure how accurate this is

Sites a bit slow with all the gubbins but pop your post code in and find the transmitter.

Enter your postcode and house number (or name) into DigitalUK and see what channels you should actually be able to get. If you tick the "I am in the aerial installation trade" box you get detail about the 6 different multiplexes.

Aerial. Mines the same when i'm using my 'old' aerial. When on sky, its fine. Try a new digital aerial.
