Sky + iphone app

Hi all,
anyone know if the sky box needs to be connected to the telephone line for this to work once registered?
I ask, as my Sky box fks up my router if connected together.

Yes it does. The phone line is it's connection to the outside world.

No it doesn't. The remote record app sends a message to the remote record Sky server and this sends a message to the box via the sat.

no. i've never had mine connected and it works just fine. you can still order stuff off box office.

Strange, I tried this yesterday and the instructions online told me after registering on SkyMe I had to register the box using the interactive button - that needed phone line access. I gave up at that point as I am not plugged in and could not be bothered to dig out my long phone cable and plug it in. Is there another way then? Any instructions?

The iPhone app is truly awful! I have Tioti TV+ which is MUCH better, records from Sky remotely (without a phone line attached) and is just so much nicer to use - worth paying the price of a half pint for!

You need access to register but after that it all goes via the sat.
