Panasonic home cinema 880

I have just ordered one of these systems and will be connecting it to my 50in Sony tv
It is an older rear projector type tv. Can anyone advise how much better the sound and picture quality will be.

It'll be better, especially as the speakers will be of a higher quality than the ones currently in your rear projection television. However a £300 system split across 5 speakers, a sub and a DVD player, I wouldn't expect too much! It all depends on how far you want to go

Yesterday my girlfriend moved in and placed wooden shelves near my right speaker - Now I feel the need to re-configure my system because to my ears the sound is not balanced correctly ... Eek!

If you ever plan to upgrade have a look at the base Yamaha AV receivers and a decent set of surround sound speakers - A world of difference!
