Got a letter from Sky telling me that all of the software in the HD box was due to be improved, but didn't give a date .... well it looks like it happened last night!

IMHO it is a huge improvement - the planner has the sound and picture from the channel you are watching and you can now get details of programmes on other channels/later in the day on the channel bar at the bottom of the screen. All together a more modern and slicker setup.

Having spoken to a mate with regular Sky+, it would seem this is an HD specific update.

Yep - I was sad and watched the video on Anytime TV the other night about it all. Looks pretty good.

Does it still take several decades to display programme and series link information?

No, its now slower than ever. My box updated overnight.

You can press 'page down' and several seconds later wonder if a) its forgotten about it or b) its thinking and will do it in a bit

And STILL it seems to be a 'one size fits all' display - so, you get to see a few channels and 1 1/2hours of programming on the little 17" TV and the same few channels and only 1 1/2 hours of programming on the big 40" HD TV. Of course, anyone in the same street can also read the listings because they're so damn big.

It does remind me a lot of the menus you get on digital cable in the US and on Freeview .....

I guess I should have said that we now have an improved system over the crap we had before! laugh

Hope its not as bad as the Sky+ update when all the Amstrad ones started to fail.

Is this what you have? Looks cool, if a little like my old freeview!
