Just got one, listening to an internet radio station, how on earth do you turn the radio station off?

I can't see a STOP button anywhere!

Can you just not use the back arrow to:-

Either select something different or at the top menu there is an option to turn off squeezebox, which will send the Receiver to sleep but not the handset

BTW how does it sound through your Cyrus DAC, as good as your Cyrus transport?

You can turn off the squeezebox, but then had problems waking it back up, took an age for the handset to communicate with it again. Teething problems I'm sure.

Haven't been able to play any ripped music yet, the squeezebox won't recognise my server at the moment, think it might be a port forwarding problem with my router. Hopefully I'll resolve it this evening.

Very impressed with internet radio one though, although obviously not in the same league as CD.

I'll report back as soon as I've cracked it.

I'll have to check. Don't use internet radio much on my Duet.

As for sound through the Cyrus DAC, I hav e DAC-XP and Apple Lossless tracks sound 99% as good as they do on the CD-Xt.

It's working.

I'm very impressed. My transport cost me £1350 (with the external psu), the squeezebox duet was less than £250.

I'm going to do some extensive tests over the weekend, but first tests back to back with one track there's very little in it. A friend who has never heard my system sat in on the back to back and couldn't seperate the two.

I always thought you get what you pay for in the hi-fi world, not anymore it seems.

Thanks for everyone's advice, particularly DavidY and Plotloss who turned my head initially.

Can't believe it was only weeks ago I held the view that computers had no place in high end hi-fi.

Stand well and truly corrected.

Pressing and holding pause for a second or so stops the stream on a Squeezebox Classic or Boom. No idea if the same is true on the Duet but Logitech usually keep the UI consistent.

If that's true, and I ever meet you in person, be prepared to receive an extremely large beer.

Yep, just been reading the online manual for my newly purchased Boom (love it) and says the same, press and hold pause to "stop". Also have a Duet but haven't got around to plumbing it in yet. . .

Thinking of getting a Boom next week, but a little worried about soundstage. Takes me back to the 80s and carrying a ghetto blaster around... Presume they've come a little bit since then.

For the money, the BOOM is amazing, it manages to produce good tunes from tiddly speakers. The unit though is surprisingly heavy.

Glad you've got your Duet up and running, won't be long before your transport is on eBay raising funds for more audio goodies!!!

I'm seriously thinking about The Transporter to replace all four Cyrus boxes, but I've never EVER bought a source component without listening to it. Don't suppose anyone demos/lends them out?

No worries, I'd had my Squeezebox for yonks before I found it out too.

Did you know that holding the + button adds the selected item to play next in the playlist, rather than to the end of it?

I haven't got exactly the type of kit you have, but I have just bought a squeezebox classic and am very impressed with the sound. I've got on order a Cambirgde Audio DACMagic as I've heard nothing but praise for it wherever I've gone, and is substantially cheaper than a lot of higher end DAC's that it supposedly equals.

But you're right, I'm thinking about the transporter in the future just to create a less cluttered, more tidy solution... let me know how it goes if you get one!

SB+ is available on 30 day approval, great piece of kit and many reckon is better than the Transporter (and cheaper too! - I have one!)

Now THAT looks interesting. David have you heard a transporter in comparison? Plotloss have you heard one of these?
