Do these exist in a version which is flush mountable in a concrete/brick wall or should I just stick a screw through the back?

Eh?

Short answer is no, they're designed for use in stud walls as the americans dont build with bricks.

But you can dig them into a proper wall and screw through the back, no worries.

I have bought them before in the UK but for the life of me I cannot remember where....let me have a look in my old files.

What exactly are you trying to install? Which country, UK or France?

Watch the depth of J Boxes, they are massive!

We usually cut the back off the plastic ones as the hardware we use is usually a quarter of the depth and needs little protection.

Thanks for all the replies. How come everybody knows so much about American backboxes? confused (Matt aside)

I'm in France for what it's worth.

I shall stick a screw through the back as Matt confirmed although I like the idea making it more shallow. But then if I did that, I couldn't stick a screw through the back...

Those metal boxes look interesting.
