Panasonic EPG issue

On my Panasonic TH42PX70 the EPG has started playing up - if the TV is on BB1 or 2 and "Guide" is pressed the screen will flicker and go back to showing the live programme. If the EPG is selected when on another channel it will display correctly, but if I navigate up to BBC 1/2 the guide will disappear and the programme will come back on.
Has anyone else encountered this - any advice much appreciated?

Another question to add to this thread:

On my panasonic (similar/same model I think), I disable a number of channels so I don't see them in the EPG. Problem is, everytime there is a channel update, these preferences are all reset and I have to do it all over again. Annoying unless anyone knows how to preserve these settings?????

Try returning the set back to shipping condition (its an option in the tuning menu), this will reset and retune the TV, it should reset any weird issues.
