SVGA to SCART?

I have a Hitachi mini system (AX-M137) with DVD player and digital radio with a scart output for the DVD. I also have a spare Fujitsu 19" flatscreen PC monitor lying around with a standard SVGA input socket.

Could anybody please confirm for me if I can get an SVGA to SCART lead and if so, would the PC monitor work with the Hitachi mini?

It looks like you can get them but they aren't especially cheap. I'd go for a cheapish TV/monitor like the LG M227WD which has all the inputs you could hope for.

Cant be done with a passive lead, you need a scan converter to put a SCART image on a monitor
