Ok , so to go with the desk i also would like a tv to replace the aging 8 year old 12" tv and video combo i have in my room. Now ideally i think ill limit myself to something like a 26" as its only goin in my bedroom so doesnt need to be OTT. If its High Def that would be brilliant but i just want to know relly who makes the best?

Cheers all

gadget show did a thing about full HD tv's comparing samsung, panasonic and sony.
sony won.
i treated myself to a 40" samsung recently and i cant fault it.
if you think you're ever going to get a blu ray or something that will use HD then id look for one that is 1080p (full HD) rather than 720p (HD ready)
most have freeview built in, personally i wouldnt buy a panasonic as they have freesat built in, ok for now but you can now get "freeview plus" boxes. dont really know much about it but its basically sky+ for the freeview channels

I think youre getting a tad confused. Full HD 1080 is pointless for a bedroom TV and also , at 26" not really necessary. All good brands have Freeview built in as standard. Th ePZ81 range from Panasonic do have Freesat built in as well as Freeview and analogue. Sizes start from 32" however. The Humax Freesat PVR at £300.00 is available but I would imagine for bedroom use not really essential.

To sum up Ron....cheapie Samsung and pay a bit more for a Panasonic. Try 26LXD80 but range about to be superceded . Pana also has an SD card reader for those 'special' interest photos!
