Dead surround sound system

My long suffering Sony HT-BE1 5.1 system finally gave up a couple of nights ago.
For a while now it has been buzzing and the power light flickers and pulses regularly for a few minutes after it comes out of standby, sometimes with an accompanying 'thump' through the speakers. It has been getting worse and has finally reached the stage where it is not putting out any noise at all.

Now I'm not an electrical genius but I'm hopeful that it might just be something like a dead capacitor and that there will be somewhere out there that can repair it for me. Does anyone know anywhere that repairs electronics goods such as these, rather than just TVs?
Failing that, what should I buy to replace it?! needs to be cheap, reasonable quality and have at least an optical input!
