I'm thinking about getting a projector to use in the lounge, but haven't really looked at the market since I had my old Panny PTAE100 many many years ago.

I want to do the following:
Install a manual pull down screen on the ceiling, that pulls down in front of the plasma.
Install a HDMI switch to be able to choose between output to the TV and output to the PJ.
Run a 15m HDMI cable around the room to the PJ.
The PJ will have around a 3m throw to the screen and I want a 1080P picture a my source will be 1080P and i'll be sitting roughly 1.5-2m from the screen.
Ideally i'd like to be able to run it during the day, but if that sort of brightness will blow the budget then that isn't a deal breaker.

Any ideas what PJ I should be looking at and what sort of price for that little lot? I was thinking less than £2k if possible?

I have an Infocus IN80 projector meets your requirements and budget. Am very pleased with it, very quiet compared with previous Infocus SP5700. There is a Sony one in your price range that has been getting good reviews.

Budget for a reasonable HDMI cable for the 15m run

I use a 4x2 HDMI switch, this has 4 inputs and two outputs, both outputs are the same so they route to the TV and Projector. My inputs are BR spinner, SkyHD and HDX-1000 (video streamer). I have set up my Harmony remote for TV on TV, TV on Projector, BR on TV, BR on Projector, etc and this just switches the necessary devices on and off and changes the input on the HDMI switcher. Budget £50-£100 for the HDMI Switcher

Had a look at the IN80 and it does look very good for the money. Seems to have gone massively up in price after xmas though! I'll wait a month or two and see what the prices do smile

Because of the weak pound, I would expect a lot of imported equipment to rise in price, a lot of AV equipment manufacturers have put up prices, and new kit being released is at higher than expected prices. It's going to stay like this until the pound gets stronger.
