I purchased a Sony KDL32V4000 from JL in the sales, however I have a problem with the picture quality including a smear/bleeding on the screen.

JL to their credit have been very helpful, however the Sony is out of stock and now I believe out of production. I have now set my heart on replacing it with a Panny, which with hindsight I wanted to start with.

Does anyone have any comments they could share on the TX-32LZD80. My front room is quite small, so I didn't want the TV to dominate it so the 32" is ideal, Intend to use it for Sport, Movies and Documentaries. It will be used purely as a TV.

I recently got the 37" model (my first flat screen TV) & despite being a ludite have been very impressed, great picture, colours, blacks etc - as you'd expect.

Can you run to the TX-32LZD85?
I got one last year and I'm really pleased with it. The picture quality has drawn a lot of positive comment from people with other "good brand" TVs, especially on fast moving films/sports. Big thumbs up from me.

yeah, I can got to about £600-£650. I'm going to go and have a look in the Panny shop in the next couple of days, there is the new range of plasmas out that are of interest also.

I would go with a 37" plasma personally. They're not that big.

I have the Panny TX32-LZD80... Very nice picture, only down side is the backlight you can not control this in the Main Menu system ie: turn it down or off at all. It can be a tad annoying as dark backgrounds will suddenly get brighter as the TV is trying to componsate, but there is a way around this. I have changed the backlight settings on mine now and picture is much better.

Analouge picture, can not comment do not get a good enough signal.
Freeview picture looks great.
Freesat looks good even with the STB giving a slightly dodgy picture output.
Only have a basic DVD player, first went by scart RGB picture was great. Now I have bought some component cables and is now displaying a 576p picture which is just that bit better.

Have not tried any HD content as yet.

Apart from the backlight thing, its a great TV and did not let that put me off getting it. Nearly went for the LG 32PG6000 Plasma but the running costs put the mrs off it.

But have a look at one and see if it is for you.

Great post.

I'm also going to also consider the new TX-37PX10 which gets launched next month and is likely to be around £600.00.

I've also considered the LG, it does seem great value.
