Hi

My TV suffers from temp screen burn, we have the wright stuff on at the moment and if we turn over or it goes to the adverts we still see the graphics in a faded ghost like manner.

Is there a way of sorting this out myself? The TV is still under warrenty, is it something i can get repaired or replaced? My brother in law installs sky tv and says all plasmas do it so samsung wont be able to do anything. Is this true?

Samsung?

Anyway.

Switch over to the analogue tuner, go onto a channel where there is no channel being recieved i.e. snow and leave it on that for 5 minutes.

It will be sorted.

Its not a technology fault but an implementation fault.

...and don't watch the Wright Stuff again. smile

Seriously though, the bloody Sky plus pause button is like that. Great idea, aim a product at those you can afford plasma screens and then give them a function where using it burns two white lines in the bottom left corner.

I have always noticed though that over time they reduce to nothing, I guess Plotloss method just speeds this up!

However, are they likely to get permanent damage? I saw screen burn on old CRT monitors, but surely it can't be that bad?

It fades away over a few minutes so its not a real problem, its just ive paid a lot of money for it and its buggin me. I cant see it lasting for ever, the only problem I can see happening is that ill be watching TV late at night and my daughter wakes up, i flick off the adult channels and she will see bang babes logo burned onto the screen when im watching QVC lol

Ill try the static thing later and see if it solves it, thanks for the tip.

It isn't screen burn, it's image retention wink

Screen burn is permanent, image retention is temporary. As Plotters says, some plasmas are better than others at this.

Make sure you have your brightness and contrast turned down to reasonable levels and don't worry about it.
