I'm thinking about buying an LCD TV, and as the title suggests, a 42" or 46". Thing is, I've no idea on good or bad tv's.

I Like the look of the Samsung Series 9 (Platinum Black), but looks aren't everything.

So, suggestions on 42" and 46" LCD's please.

I'll be running the 360, Sky + (maybe HD in the Future) and eventually Blu Ray through it.

TIA
Stuart.

Personally I struggle to tell the difference between LCD and Plasma. I've never seen them side by side in HD.

I'm open to suggestions.

Plasma is the superior technology, pound for pound.

If you can go to a 50" the Pioneer 5090 is king.

If you must have an LCD the Pioneer KRL-46V is the king of them.

Beneath them you've got the Panasonic 46PZ85/PZ81 (latter with Freesat) or 42PZ85/81

JVC 42DR9 is a goody, LCD but good chassis/electronics

Pioneer KRL-46V by about 12 galaxies.

In 42" Lcdville I just walked past a Gandalf calibrated LT-42DR9 (JVC) and noted how, via the Humax derived BBC HD loop, it was in the process of serving up some distinct 'whoopage d'arse' to the detriment of something most unexpected.

Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive in each arena - but the best.

I think 50" is mild overkill, but wont say no yet.

In the 46", is the Pioneer better than the Panasonic? I think my Uncle has the 42PZ85 and the quality on it is superb.
