I'm looking to tidy up an abomination of wires/mess coming into our new place. Currently it's a mix of sky, legacy phone, and the original RF aerial on a hanging off face plate. Nice.

I'd quite like to just have a double socket with 4 euro insets, quad LNB (so 2 euro inserts with 2 fplug each), and then a euro insert for the master BT socket, and a euro insert for a filtered ADSL (RJ11?)

Does anyone know of any kind of setup that can give me my 4 fplugs and a proper master, and a filtered adsl, all in one nice double faceplate? Or if I have no telephone and just use ADSL, perhaps I don't need the filter and can just use my modern right off the master socket?

I understand euro inserts are quite vogue for home cinema/hifi for having everything tidy so this seemed like a good section to ask as the euro insert knowledge here is probably better than Homes, Gardens and DIY.

Many thanks!

Given that your ADSL line will be replaced in the next couple of years is it worth going to the trouble of finding RJ11 faceplates?

Ah this is the first I'd heard of this. Thank you for letting me know.

I'm glad that my 18mo contract ends in the November '26, giving me chance to do whatever seems prudent at the time.

I'm in a village but we haven't got it yet, but the local village where we were did have FTTP so it's getting close. I can't believe they'll leave it till the last minute so I expect it might appear quite soon.

I'll probably just leave some redundancy in the faceplate then, and focus for now on the satellite inputs only.

For all I know they'll want to bring it onto the property via other means away from where the telephone line currently comes in.

To tidy up the f-plugs you could use one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195236368172 and than have a separate single socket for the other stuff.

Yeah a quad fplug plate like that will suffice as I have a media server with DVBS capture card, and then the TV with one satellite input.

I was hoping to have the server, internet, and fplugs all in the same place so it was like a hub of sorts... assuming internet can come in there, but not knowing how, seems no point trying to plan at all really.
At my last place the FTTP was quite a big box on the wall with an RJ45 hanging out the side. Elegant.

You can get blank faceplates that take all types of modular sockets.

Yeah I was planning on having 4.

2 x double fplug, and then 1x master, and then 1x filtered ADSL.

Since you need a master for various reasons and then the filtered ADSL just so it's a nice wire that goes straight to the router without the dangling white box.

But yeah, if it's all going to be gone in 18mo or so then no point doing a nice job in the corner. Especially if I'm going to have to have the FTTP box on the wall.
I may well end up bunging it all in the loft at this rate as you soon end up with a real nest of wires for it all.
