Aux input distorting
Discussion
Is this likely to be the socket (dismantled, cleaned with contact cleaner spray etc) or the amp? Its in a car but had no response on the relevant car section to testing the wisdom here. Distorts on hi-frequency / higher volumes.
The unit supplying the output to the Aux is fine on another car/amp.

It could be the input sensitivity is higher than the non-distorting other car stereo. Is it possible to reduce the level of the source signal? For example, if it's the headphone output of an MP3 player then set a lower volume on the audio level.
For any more specific help, it would be useful if you included makes and models for the car stereos and the source device.

Thanks for the reply. Its a Mini F56 (works fine in a year older R56) and the source is a Carpuride carplay unit (got 2) both do the same thing so definitely the car is the issue.
Yes, if you turn te EQ down to flat and drop the output level to 50% its all fine but not very loud in car when driving and the sound is flat.
